Grants for Nonprofit Organizations During the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Epidemic

$1.5 million in grant funds allocated for organizations that reach out to their community and the causes they represent.

2020 has begun as a troublesome year for so many communities around the world. COVID-19, also known as the Coronavirus, has become a global epidemic, resulting in hundreds of thousands of infections and tens of thousands of deaths worldwide. This has created chaos in the world as social distancing is being mandated by city after city, state after state, country after country. World leaders are struggling to know what can be done, workers are losing income, and businesses are falling prey to the consequences of the nonexistent foot traffic. There is no escaping the fact that the world will never be the same.

During these times, nonprofits who are not connected with their community and supporters also begin to fail, seeing dramatic decreases to regular giving as they disappear behind the larger charities and nonprofits who have a way to stay in communication with those who stand with them. Social media serves as an important piece of a good communication campaign, but with only a percentage of posts being seen, nonprofits must rely more than ever on their own online presence. This is why websites are so important during times like these - they become "home base" for operations and a central repository of information and communications for those you serve and those who support that effort.

For that reason, we have worked hard to provision up to $1.5 million in funding to be used for building or rebuilding websites for nonprofit organizations based in the United States. We have authorized three different programs that attempt to reduce the cost of the effort by applying grant funds to them. These programs range from full grants to matching and partial grants. The following criteria must be met in order to qualify for all three programs:

  1. Your organization must be based in the United States.
  2. Your organization must serve a charitable or not-for-profit purpose. No business or commercial use will be permitted.
  3. Executive leadership may not be referred to as "owners" of the organization anywhere on website or application materials.
  4. A link to the Center for Desease Control and Prevention's Coronavirus page must be posted somewhere on the header or footer of your website.
  5. Preference will be given to organizations who can be verified as Tax Exempt Organizations using the IRS database search.
  6. Organizations that cannot be verified may still qualify with either (a) a copy of your articles of incorporation, and/or (b) a formal business plan.
  7. All applications and commitments must be guaranteed by the applicant

Limitations (Please Read): It is important to note that this is a limited program with very specific parameters. Our goal is to create effective websites for the organizations who apply, which relies on each organization allowing our company to make design and architecture decisions for them based on our almost 20 years of experience building websites for nonprofits around the world. The program has a limit of 10 pages of content, up to one (1) online form, and does not provide for custom development of advanced applications beyond e-mail submission forms. If additional functionality is needed, that can be provided at an extra cost. However, please note that our goal with this program is to help nonprofits gain and retain visibility during this time. So, custom applications development requests will be carefully reviewed for approval. In addition, all websites will be powered by our platform to keep costs of development low and to provide your organization with the best tools possible.

Applying for the Grant

To apply for the grant, please submit the form below. You will be required to choose the program you are applying for and the payment method for your portion of the program cost. If your organization is not accepted for any reason, the fee will be will not be charged. However, if the application is accepted, your portion will be charged immediately, so please be sure that funds are available in the account used as declined payments will result in a rejection of your grant. All applications will be reviewed and approved or declined within 24 hours of application.

Wait... Why Is There a Fee? We have worked with nonprofits for several decades. One dynamic we have discovered is that most nonprofits are in the startup phase with little resources to grow. Because they usually rely on free resources, there is an undervaluing of the service companies like ours provides. In some cases, our services are abused. For grant applications, we receive applications that are not very serious when it costs nothing to submit. For that reason, we ask that applicants invest in the application process, applying those fees to the setup costs incurred and not covered by the grants. It is truly the only way we can know if an organization can afford the balance of the resources after the grant is applied. We do not charge any fees for rejected applications. If you object to this approach, please do not submit the application.
